Exploring Personal Prayer: Lectio Divina

I am looking forward to our second session of Exploring Personal Prayer, where we will be doing a Lectio Divina prayer together for the first week of Advent. I have chosen specifically not to use the scripture for the Sunday Lectionary in these sessions because I have recorded Lectio Divina and Imaginative Contemplations for Advent based on the Lectionary for Radio Maria, and for my blog. Here, I am looking to act against the pressure of society for everything now, and instant gratification, by sitting with the sense of waiting and the need for patience. It seems like a particularly poignant theme in the world right now.

The scripture I have chosen for our Lectio Divina is Psalm 27:7-14. I invite you to simply read it in preparation for our prayer.

It may be helpful to print it out if you feel you would like to write on it for yourself in the review of prayer, and having some sort of journal or notebook would certainly be helpful for the Review of prayer. I trust that you have already received the prayer cards which outline the process of the Ignatian prayer period and the Lectio Divina in flow diagrams. If not, please do let me know and I will send them out again.

And of course, the zoom link:
